Hi Guys,
I'm in go kart stage right now and i was doing a test drive and when i got back the brakes were still "on". Not locked tight just a little pressure. I was able to push it out of my garage before the ride but when i got back i could not push it by hand. Eventually the pressure releases and the wheels free up. I assume the MC isn't releasing. Has anyone experienced this?

thanks
jim

Jim,

Do you have a mustang pedal box or the Wilwood pedal box? If it is the Wilwood pedal box you need to make sure the rods aren't adjusted in too far to apply constant pressure.

Hi Brian,
Wilwood with the Whitby power kit so the MC is outside the footbox. I have the feeling that it's a bleeding issue. Will an air pocket cause this type of thing?

An air pocket will cause a soft pedal. But won't cause the calipers to stick. Do you have a combination valve?

The first thing to check is the brake pedal. Make sure it can and does fully retract. If you pull up on the brake pedal and the calipers release, that's the problem.

Then find out which calipers are sticking. Could be just one, or could be all 4.
