Well, it's official - I moved 7074 out of the house and into the hangar I rented at a local airport just 10 minutes away. I shared the unit with two others over the winter for storage and decided that when they moved out (except for the boat) at the end of April that I'd just keep it as a new workshop. The rent is reasonable and in return I get 1500 square feet of perfect workspace. I moved all my machine tools there, as well as most of my tools (kept just enough at home to work on the wife's '67 Camaro). Now that the chassis and body are in the same place, I'm going to begin bodywork and get it out for paint, then re-focus on getting to first start and go-kart.

One of the fringe benefits is that I'm a wanna-be pilot (ground school and written completed years ago, but very few hours accumulated before life got in the way) and this is a great place to plane-watch. My next door neighbor has a 1944 Hellcat that served in the Navy on the west coast at the end of WWII - way cool to hear that radial engine start every weekend!!! There are also quite a few other warbirds on the field, as well as various former Soviet planes - both piston and jet powered.

Here are a couple of pictures taken this weekend when I finally finished getting everything moved in and unpacked.

Wow, great space, and "bird watching" to boot!

Very cool...
