Is it safe to say I can install the side vents prior to installing the body on the chasis ?

I suppose you could, they might be close to the top 3/4 inch rails as the body comes down, so I guess my question is why would you want to? The windshield will be easier to bolt on with the passanger side vent removed as well.

True that, I was thinking of things that are easier done prior to installing the body

Do them before installing the splash panels and it is not difficult. Windshield arm bolts are easier to get at on the passenger side before the vents are in so after the body is on: 1) Install windshield; 2) Install vents; 3) Install splash panels. Sorry, driver's side windshield arm bolts are a PIA no matter when you do it!

I would install them but make them easily removeable. YOu can remove them for body install and many time later on as having that big hole in the side of the body will make lots of jobs a bunch easier.
