Dave and the crew,

I have been following this forum since its' inception and I have been following Project 818 since its', which I believe was some time back in early 2011 with the design contest starting in March 2011. I have also been following Factory Five since about 2002 when I was a freshman in college and starting to earn a Mechanical Engineering Degree. I have wanted to build one of your kits since that time. My tastes have varied over time, coupe or roadster etc., but I always knew that I had to have a Factory Five. I have watched the release of both the GTM and the 33 and was in awe. I even remember applying for a job with you when I was fresh out of school. In school I had an idea to someday build a rear engine car using a front engine platform as the basis. When I had originally heard of the Project 818 idea I was amazed. The cost to build, the goals, the weight, the platform, everything... perfect. What I have seen up to this point, including the go-cart today, and talking to Jim, has kept me enthused. I am more than excited!!! I have already gone ahead and obtained my donor and it is taking a lot of restraint to let it sit for now and not tear it apart. I can't wait to place my order and shake your hand. I am 100% confident that the final product will be absolutely amazing. You have and are continuing to make a lot of peoples dreams come true and for that I thank you. Keep up the great work.

I am hoping this post can serve to allow other people to say thank you as well. Dave and the crew at Factory 5 are doing an incredible job and deserve our support. I hope that this post and everyone on here can send the message that we love what they are doing and provide motivation for them to continue.

Just don't drink the Koolaid!!!

Cuz it sounds like your pissing in it. You have been full of praise today......NOT!

I live close to the factory, I have purchased from Factory Five and am a current client, that said I know I am far from the inner circle. So take may statements from that perspective.

Dave did not need to share anything with us, infact If I were him I wouldn't have said anything until just before release (like he did with the Hot Rod). He is a car creator not a PR guy, he is doing his best to include all of us and derogatory remarks will only create further divide. From what I could see today, the car is coming along nicely and the finish product will be inkeeping with the other FF5 products......awesome.

Thanks Dave for the imagination and allowing us to be a part of it no matter how big or how small.

I'm in this same place. As a Mechanical Engineer as well I can truely relate with Dave and his entire crew/company. I've visited and talked with him twice, both times I could have talked to him for hours and detracted from his ability to do the work! :-)

We have all had a very unique experience, being able to participate as much as we have.

Dave knows how we feel, he monitors the forum. F5 will give us what we need/want and this project will be a HUGE success!!!!! The go kart piece is easier for them as they have done it several times now. This chassis will be stiff, strong and will perform like a champ. The Subaru pieces will be more than enough for an NA version, the WRX pieces more than needed for a turbo version. Look at the capabilities of their two clean sheet of paper designs. Both the GTM and 33 perform at a level that can compete with any car from any manufacturer.

Their design goals "push the envelope" to keep prices down with the NO PAINT goal! That will really stretch their capabilities. They have been doing the work to get there for some time, improving the molds etc on their other products.

We have to understand that it will take some time and this new process may require some design compromises. This forum is driven by passionate individuals who LOVE cars and want that primal connection with their vehicle. This results in some posts thast could be seen as derogatory or negative. Dave has shown an AMAZING ability to take this negative feedback in stride... I couldn't do it!

Relax, progress is being made, we are sitting in the catbird seat! I can't wait!

Thanks Dave and the rest of factory f5, I feel like I'm a small part of their family and I've spent $ for a tee shirt so far! How AWESOME is that for Factory 5, what a sucessful business model!

Thanks to Factory Five for everything in the past and everything yet to come.
My deepest appreciation and admiration as I patiently wait for the future (818/F5).
