That's a good deal, I just bought a set of those (275's) for my 87 (converted to 2003) Mustang.

Doesn't that mean that the tires are already 3 yrs old and according to many " Experts" they are near the end of their life. I have 4 yr old tires on my car but I bought them when they were new so now that would make them 7 yrs old. Dont know if I would trust 7 yrs old tires.

I am one who replaces my trailer tires based on age (~5 years), but they are outside exposed to UV 24/7/365. I wouldn't consider tires produced in 2008 that have been inside a warehouse to be as "old" as the calendar suggests.

Can you use that tire on the street?

You can, but I wouldnt unless you are looking for a DOT legal race tire... They will throw rocks and such once they get warm(ultra sticky street tires)

I ask about street use because I have a 45 minute highway drive to the autocross. It would be nice to drive it there on the tires I would autocross with. I have been told that would be a no no with A6's.

They should be fine for that. Just wanted to make sure you knew they were comp style tires. They are older so dont expect them to be as fast as fresh tires and you many only get this season out of them.

I ordered two for the rear. My Summitomo's are like driving on ball bearings. It will be fun to see what they do. Thanks for the heads up and the advice. I will post the results.
