So I was thinking about coming down from Canada with the wife for the open house. Anyone have any suggestions on what to do? I was thinking of flying down Friday and spending the weekend, there are 2 airports we can use, what do people suggest. My wife knows the Saturday is going to be spent at the open house so I will have to do something on sunday with her. Should we stay downtown Boston?

Either airport is fine. More to do in Boston, but Providence is a nice little city too. I live right in the middle of both. Really depends on what you want to do. If it was me I would do providence because you have limited time. If you going to stay for 3 or 4 days then stay in Boston. Just my opinion

I would have to second Michael's opinion. My wife and I made a trip to Wareham, and Factory Five. Dave told us that we should check out Newport, RI. We did, and it was a very cool town.We did the "mansion tours", and had a great time. This was November of 2009. We drove down to the coast and was able to get a few pictures of the surf coming in ahead a small storm... They're on my other computer (at home). I'll try to dig them out and post them.
I would definitely go back.

In my (somewhat biased) opinion, I'd say you should definitely make the trip down for the Open House, and I highly recommend staying in downtown Plymouth. I grew up in Plymouth, and the downtown area in the summer is absolutely gorgeous. There are lots of hotels right near the waterfront, plenty of restaurants and little shops to check out, as well as a number of tourist attractions. You can check out: www.seeplymouth.com/ for more info, if you're interested. Or, feel free to give us a call here at Factory Five and we can help make some recommendations on other areas to stay.

Hope to see you this summer!

Thanks for the suggestions! How's downtown boston, I mean as far as the city goes, clean/safe? Lots to do and see?

Not living in Boston, but visiting on several occasions, downtown is crazy, driving wise. I'll leave a response about clean/safe to others that have more experience. But there is so much to see and do that one trip will not be enough. So much history down in the colonies. Check out the web for several sites to see in and around Boston. Highly recommended.

Which two airports are closest? I'm thinking of flying in too.

Pretty sure they are about the same distance away. Providence is a bit easier to get in and out of, but logan isnt bas either. Pick the one with the cheapest flight.

Downtown Boston has so much American history to see, from Paul Revere to the USS Constitution! Plymouth is great too with the Mayflower and Plymouth Plantation.

I went over to Plymouth last year and had a really nice day. Of course the company had a lot to do with that! I'm open to doing some sort of group thing after the open house again this year...

The cape sounds fun...

Whether you stay in or outside of Boston you should ride into town on the rail and see Faneuil Hall Marketplace. I wouldn't recommend driving downtown Boston. Just not my cup of tea (It's crazy). I promise you won't be disappointed. Enjoy, WEK.

Every year on Fathers day there is a car show on Main St Hyannis. It is like Hunnington Beach east. The registration fills by April but to be a spectator is free. There are car shows, then there are events like this. Not only is their beautiful cars, there are 100's of shops and restaurants too all along the way. Heritage museum usually brings several million dollar in rare antiques out, you will see some of the most heralded 60's and 70's muscle cars, all the way to exotics of today (up to 50 "special" vehicles are allowed to register). My GTM is approved and will be there. All cars must make standard and be approved to enter. These are top shelf cars, this is no junk world of wheels, this is the real deal. If your even close to New England this is a must attend. Realy is a wonderful day, my wife is not big into cars, but looks forward to the event every year. See small press release below.

June 16, 2013, 19th Annual Father's Day Car Show 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. along Main Street, Hyannis. Attendance is free for spectators. Along the historic mile-long Main Street thoroughfare 350 classic and nostalgic cars from New England and New York will be displayed in all their glory.
