I was reading the 33 thread on the SB100 process in Calif.... So if I were to relocate to Calif from out of state and I have a valid title for my Mark I as a 1997 vehicle, I would not have to go through this process? The State of Maine originally titled it as the year it was built and placed the VIN number plate on the frame. Maine gave me a title as a 1997. Next the title was transferred to North Carolina and they accepted it as a 1997 titled vehicle, after a North Carolina State Trooper came over to inspect the car. That North Carolina title was then transfer to Arkansas who could care less what the car was as long as they got their fees. I have copies of all the titles just been wondering what kind of problems I'll have if I were to consider Calif. as the place to be!

You would need to do the SB-100 process because if you have a "1997" year title you would need to pass California smog for 1997.
Here is some pretty good information to start with: http://www.bipac.net/semaga/TagTitleToolbox_CA.pdf

only a few thousand miles since I last posted the miles...been mostly to and from work as I have tried to stay close to home the past few months with Jake being sick. BUT he's better now and we'll be back out soon exploring more of the back roads.
