Stainless Headers Mfg Inc has made a adjustable Mock up headers .I'm there Guinea pig .I have included some photo's of there set up .The beauty of the system is it allows you to adjust the angle of the header to fit the variances of a individual car. You can adjust for side pipe fit in or out as well as up and down .You can now make the headers fit the body cut outs instead of making the body cut outs fit the headers. No more engines out of level, transmission shimmed way up to level side pipes. You can now adjust it out at the header flange.
What they do is Ship you the mock up headers. You mount them on your motor with body installed adjust them till the side pipes fit the way you want them to.You then lock down the nuts to the torque specs the give you.You then ship them back and they make the headers to match. Pricing I have not been told as of yet.Chris said it would be slightly more than the web site pricing but best bet would be to call and ask. Everyone there has been super to work with.I am in no way affiliated with Stainless Headers Mfg.I was looking for a solution to the high port 427 Windsor header problem but they found a solution for all engine combinations.

Look like a very nice idea and could eliminate some headaches. Which sidepipes did you use for that high HP engine?

I looked at a few services just like this and found the price ($1500-2000) a little steep for my budget. It is a great product though.

Chris mentioned something was in the works a few weeks ago when I ordered mine. I told him I had stock(non-modified) footboxes so I'm guessing he felt that it was not needed on mine. I checked in with him a couple of days ago and he told me that mine might be shipping the middle of next week. Really looking forward to getting them so I can get back to working on my exhuast. This is the last thing I need before my first start.

Clemson, I got a set of headers from this group for the Z heads. Although I can't remember the exact price, I believe it was about half of what you are quoting. Very high quality pieces also, so I would recommend them without hesitation.

That's the price if you get the fixturing components and you construct your headers from scratch.Someone on the forum has done that that already and for the life of me I cannot remember his name. If you buy a set of headers from that fixture I think it was 750.00 in mild steel and 1050.00 for stainless. The mock up version was built from that fixturing. The headers fit using Don Payne foot box mod on the passenger side.
That design worked well on my car without any changes a little tweaking was needed but I could have used wedges to do that.My problem was I wanted a merge collector in the headers then go back to 4 into 4 also I wanted a 2 inch primary tubes. I wanted to improve scavenging a place for 0 2 sensors.
