Fedex delivered traction lock brackets and remaining suspension parts today. Dropping off all bare metal parts and Moser 8.8 tomorrow for powdercoat. Can the start of the build really be just a few days away?

Yes it can! I bet you're excited. Nothing like a fresh build. Make sure to post up a build thread so we can live vicariously through you!

My '33 hot rod will be delivered Saturday. This is my first. I spent a weekend in Howell, MI. in a 3 day build school to get a "hands on". Wish me luck.

Very cool! Where are you located? You may have fellow FFR builder nearby that can lend a hand when needed.

I'm in the suburbs of Chicago. Toured Factory Five 3 weeks ago when I purchased the '33. Great experience.

Yes it is. It went on a show tour over the winter and that's were it ended up for now.

My powder coat guy says the grease in the ball joint in the front upper control arms may cause a problem with the powder coating. Did you experience any problem?

He's right, you have to clean out all the grease first. I, like most others, just sprayed brake cleaner into the ball joints and use air to blow it out. Just keep repeating until the greasse is gone, powder coat and just regrease when you get them back.

Makes you wonder why FFR supplies these unpainted but with grease in them, as no matter what you do, paint, PWC or chrome, you have to remove the grease anyway!!!

You don't need to remove the grease if you paint (and many builders do).
