Moroso sump oil quantity, street use

I bought a Moroso "9-qt" sump P/N 20503 from Forte, with front well. I carefully filled this on the bench with 5 qts of oil and noted the dipstick reading at this level. (The 5 qts of oil was just above the baffle and the standard "double-well" Mustang sump calls for 5 qts).
How much oil do you use for moderate street fun? Can't believe 9 qts is required when you compare this design with the baffling to the strange Mustang original sump.
