For anyone who is planning on a trip to the State Police for a VIN assignment, AND you purchased your unfinished kit from the original owner, please be sure that the Bill of Sale to you does NOT describe it as a vehicle, but as an unfinished kit that was not yet constructed, and make sure the Bill of Sale is notarized.
Two builders who had Bill of Sales that described the kit as a Factory Five Roadster were both dealt a serious blow in Northboro by Trooper Burns. This problem could be unique to that one inspector, but my advice is to not take a chance.
