Decided I had to lose some weight so have started the Insanity home fitness DVD. Hard work for sure, but I feel like I am making progress. 22lb lost in just over two weeks - combined with a switch to a healthy diet.

In all honesty, I don't think it would matter if you did the DVD or not. Working that hard and eating healthy will make you lose weight, but I guess the DVD's put some structure to it and keep you motivated.

And just because this is the Factory Five forum, I'll leave a link to Shonky, the V8 sound simulator for your daily driver.

(No, it isn't a trick to get you to click on a video of a woman crashing a car).

haven't tried but it should work well along with a proper diet. muscle confusion is THE trick. some freeweights and supersets (my favorite) would go along well with their program. (hard to beat freeweights and supersets for mass building) stay motivated, seeing the improvements in the mirror after a while will be enough! good luck, it sounds like you've got a great start! p.s. make sure you are taking in enough protein, from natural sources or in powder form. it's the building blocks of muscle.

I am eating 5 times a day, and even started on a whey protein shake today. Can't eat enough! I am naturally bigger than most people, so muscle mass isn't a problem. The last time I weighed what the doctor told me I should be I was 28 years old, and 6% body fat. Some how I don't think I will get back there again, or at least not for a very long time.

I have Insanity, Insanity Asylum and P90X. I also do CrossFit. I made a switch to functional type workouts when the Marine Corps really began to incorporate it a few years ago. CrossFit is my primary but, the other three work well when I am on travel. Prior to this bodybuilding was my focus with just enough cardio to satisfy what I needed for my physical fitness test.

I seem to always have sore calves a few days after an Insanity workout.

Crossfit is my workout of choice too. I love working on the rings, especialy muscle ups (not a beginner workout but a great goal to work up to).

That and trail running. I will say P90X is a solid program. I like their pullup workouts. If you aren't doing some kind of pullups, you aren't working out in my opinion.
