Hope you guys can help. I'm at a loss for now.
My car has an ISIS 1+1 million system and is wired quite closely to Joe Leone's wiring diagrams for both the power controller and the switch controller. Power controller mounted in a storage box in the rear and switch controller under dash.
I've been driving the car for about a week since taking it out of storage (third tank of gas so far). Car stored with a battery minder over winter. Bit of a cruise and drove to work yesterday (about 50miles) and everything was fine. Came out after work and wouldn't start.
Couldn't jump start the car through the battery - would not turn over, as if the voltage not getting to the starter. Connected the red jump cable to the upstream side of the solenoid, black to the battery neg, still no start. Connected black to engine ground and started immediately.
Started to drive home with dash volt meter reading 14V so alternator working. Halfway home, turned on the lights and car immediately started bucking, misfiring and losing power fast. Fortunately, I was close to a friend's so pulled into his driveway. Cleaned battery terminals, regreased and tightened cables. Wouldn't start and had to jump the same way again. Drove home fine using nothing electrical.
Charged battery although it is was reading 75% charged.
When I turn on the key, I get nothing - no lights, gauges dont power up, etc. When I turn something on, the power controller "groans" - like an alarm but quiet and painful. Have checked all fuses on the power controller and replaced the power controller main fuse. Blue power LED on on the power controller. Only thing that works are my LED interior lights, I assume because they are such low current.
Just to check I switched out the 50amp main fuse upstream of power controller, and have 12V input to power controller, also at each connection between the battery and ignition.
Any ideas? Is there a fuse on the switch controller? I don't recall and it is hard mounted under the dash.
Thanks, Mike
