I was thinking that it might be beneficial of us to take a poll and let FFR know when we plan on placing our order for the 818.

I honestly doubt they really care, no offense. They're most likely more worried about getting the kit finished and ready to go.
On a related note, putting a date on my purchase doesn't really work... I want a coupe, so I'm not even considering purchasing until I see the coupe form.

Pretty much the same boat as this guy. Until the hardtop(be it removable, coupe, t-tops, whatever) I will have to hold off on this as well. 1 car garage and a car can be in there from a couple days to a month on jack stands. I can't let an open top only car sit outside to get destroyed by the elements.

If I were FFR I would like to have this input. It helps them determine how fast they should ramp up production.

I also doubt they really care, because they aren't going to rush it just because people are saying they'll buy one. They KNOW this car will sell!
I am also waiting to see what options will be offered besides the roadster. I need a real top of some kind, though I'm open as to whether that's a hard top for the roadster, a targa (my personal preference), or if I'll have to settle for a coupe (least favorite option).

I imagine the orders placed will tell them that. I'm not trying to be funny or mean here. There is simply a difference between what people say and what they actually do. If I were FFR, I'd pay very little attention to what people say, and a lot more attention to what they do. As I said above, they already expect this car to sell well, so what a few of us say on this forum probably matters very little if at all...

Depends on when the coupe is ready for me. Our car club already has the money for 4 coupes. Lucky for us we also have a club member that is a 10 year veteran mechanic at the Subarooo dealership. We are weekend warriors on the local strip. Open cars are not for us. And we would like to use the cars for all weather daily use. I am also considering to build several coupes to put up for sale may make this a full time venture.

Agreed. But I think he just worded that poorly. I think that:
It helps them determine how fast they should ramp up production.
...really meant 'It helps them figure out how many parts to build/order'.
Some of these parts are going to have to come from other vendors, or have long lead times for FFR to fabricate. So I could see where knowing how much real interest there is could be helpful so they don't over, or under, order. Either way could be painful.
The problem however is, as was pointed out, what people say != what they do. How to accurately gauge real interest?

In a nutshell, what I'm saying is that I think FFR will have all that worked out BEFORE they start taking any orders. And that will happen regardless of what is said here.

Exactly, anyone can say "Yeah, I'm buying one!" But until they actually put the money towards ordering one, I doesn't mean anything to FFR I would assume. That's how I would operate, at least.

Along those same lines I would add another category to the poll: (I am going to wait until something "Real, on the ground" is shown before I commit to buying anything.)

Not too long for me.
For me it will be either right when the kit is released, or not at all.
All depends on how sexy or ugly it looks....

Ahh, I'm pretty sure they will wait for the phones to start ringing. Basing business decisions on some forum poll would be foolish..
My next purchase will be a Coupe... but that would be a Type 65 Coupe! :)

Do you mind divulging some details, like what area of the country, how much you paid, how did you find it, etc.?
