This weekend I got to the point I was fearing because of all the horror stories about making headers fit . I've had my share of problem but I dropped the motor in for the last time bolted up trans to cross member.Making sure motor was level.Bolted on headers and low and behold these pictures are the results. Its a 351 motor AFR 225 Outlaw heads and Stainless Steel headers. I used the kit motor mounts and had to shim the trans up one inch to get the back of the headers above the bottom of the four inch frame rails that's all. Also FF cut the header openings in the body.

They look good. The only issue I had was having to open up the FFR cut holes a little and shimming up the tranny. Good job!

That's looking really good for initial fit. Several comments. (1) You mention shimming up the transmission. Have you checked pinion angle yet? Shimming the transmission (or not) is one of the ways to adjust pinion angle. Need to make sure that's OK too. (2) Pass side body cut-out should be enlarged a little to give a little more clearance at the back. The FF cutouts are intentionally a little undersized, and adjusting to your specific setup is normal. (3) You may want to add a wedge spacer to the driver side pipe, to get it more parallel to the body. The pass side looks perfect, but the driver side is out a little. But I wouldn't make any final adjustments until your body is 100% installed and fitted, doors installed, splash guards installed, etc. The lower part of the body can move around some getting everything installed and lined up.

Pinion angle adjusted fine that's one of the advantages of the five link adjustablity plus functionality. Have ordered a shim for driver side. The splash guards are fitted as well as doors and dash. Are the openings perfect no but from the problems I've seen on the this and the other forum the fit is d**n good. The person who jigged the headers up for Stainless Headers is owed a lot of thanks not only from me but from anyone who uses them. They work they work well and with Don Paynes foot box mods as well. I would mention the persons name but I lost it.

Where did you get the stainless headers?

I got them from STAINLESS HEADERS MFG. INC They can make them in stainless or mild steel .Someone on the other forum worked with them to fixture the headers and now there making them as a one at a time deal as ordered. The person to talk to there is Chris . They were fab for a high port head such as a Z304 or 303 AFR heads. In talking to Chris today he was wondering if instead of welding the end flange on if he made a adjustable one that could be positioned by the builder lock down then sent back to him for final welding. That way you would no longer need the wedges to get the side pipes to line up correctly. He was asking me about this idea. Could others reading this give me an opinion to take back to Chris.
