First off it's legal for the class ( according to what I read) and secondly the water evacuation is vastly improved. The faster you move the water from underneath the tire the more grip you continually will have.

Uhhhmm.... why would you shave rain tires. Those picturd above seem to have even more thrad than the regular RA-1's. Shave them to what the regular tread depth? If you need intermediates just run the regulars unshaved.

All the grooves are now taken to full depth (8/32nds), with the exception of the very center shallow groove ( left for stability)
