I am changing from the standard ford tail housing to the S10 tailhousing and purchased a supposedly correct mount for the rear of the transmission. As you can see from the pictures, there's no way this mount is going in my car without something being modified. Do I have the right parts, or what did anyone else have to do to get this to work?83658366

Yes you will have to drill and slot the mount for the new tranny.

So I used a hybird mount from Fortes and nothing needed to be drilled, it just fit, also make sure you chnage the pinion angle since the new mount is shorter and you will have issues. Here is pic of the mount that fits the frame mount on the FFR

So I got the mount from Fortes. Mines red (see above photos) what is the spacing between the studs center to center on your trans mount from Fortes. Do you have a part number? I would love to bolt up and just add a spacer and go.

I used the s10 pickup ball mount which has a single screw. just drill a hole in the cnter of your existing crossmember mount. note the s10 tailshaft is angled 10 degrees so you have to put some extra washers on one side to get the tranny level. we changed the rules last year to make this arrangement spec legal.

i believe the mount was from a 92 or 93 s10 pickup and cost about 10 bucks. I have used it in my challenge car for 2 seasons including enduro racing without incident.
