Banned

I just determined that I was banned from posting on the other site . I have not been told why . Has that happened to any one else .I thought it was funny that I was accused of being someone else trying to get back on the site when I joined . Guess i did not convince them that I was who I said I was Or am.

Seems like they should be able to validate your IP address and know that you are not the other person... From what I've read lately, there are a lot of strange things that happen there.

I don't think you are truly banned ---and I know that there is no reason for you to be (yeah, I remember someone paniced when they saw that you joined from McHenry about the same time that Jeremy Quade, known scammer from the same area, was outed). Your posts are (well, were. I don't know about today) showing up but they won't open for replies. I reported a few weeks ago that something funky was going on with your username. I could see the title of a classified listing that you posted but when I tried to open it it came back as an invalid thread or somesuch. I tried getting to it by going to your profile and clicking on "show posts from this user" and got another odd message. I sent a message to the classified section moderators alerting them to the issue and asked them to look into it but apparently it didn't get resolved. Why don't you try sending a PM to David Hodgkins through this site. He's a moderator both places and I'm sure he'll try to get the problem corrected for you.

If it weren't for the history on that site, I'd be here 100%. I support Dave's philosophy. The other site seems to be more concerned about the money lately.

I very seldom go to the other site any more. It's been sold to the internet version of a conglomerate, and is clearly on the decline. Those people don't care about cars, they car about bombarding your eyeballs with ads, and gouging the little-guy advertisers. This one is the official FFR site, and is rising -- I think we recently passed 4000 members. Nuff said.

I am somewhat new here. Although I have been on many other industry forums. The one thing that bothers me most is that people never use their names, or sign the post with your name. If you can take your time to ask a question or answer one for another member, why can't you at least sign your name to it. Just my two cents.

I got lucky and reached the Site Admin. on his way home. He says that he'll look into it (he believes that you somehow got put in "global ignore.) Give it about an hour or two and check again. If it still doesn't work, let me know and I'll give him another call.
