My name is Greg and I am researching building a competition car. I downloaded the rules and have been trying to determine the best method to get the doner parts. I have built several motors in the past and don't understand why rules require specific engine blocks (87-93). Please don't get me wrong, I completely agree with a set of build rules to reduce costs and to keep the cars competitive to each other. Some of the rules are difficult to interpret the intent! I have never built a Motor without balancing the bottom end. This is not done for performance rather to keep the engine from ripping itself apart. Most machine shops will not stand behind their work without balancing the bottom end.
I been thinking about building this car for YEARS! Now I just need to determine a budget and find the funds. Looking forward the build and for some fun on the track!
