Watch a Factory Five Mk4 go head-to-head with an original 427 on MuscleCar TV – March 17-18 and 24-25 and sign-up for your chance to win a free Factory Five Mk4 Roadster Complete Kit and extras.

One of the most exciting episodes we’ve ever done will be airing in a few weeks. The crew at MuscleCar TV filmed two episodes where they did some wrenching on our Mk4 demo car and then ran that car against an original 427. The guys at MuscleCar installed Ford’s new 5.0L Coyote engine, upgraded Wilwood brakes, Moser’s wavetrack rear end, and KONI’s latest double-adjustable shocks. As soon as we were done with the upgrades, we traveled to Charlotte Motor Speedway to pit the upgraded Mk4 against the original car in a variety of driving categories.

The car’s were tested in autocross, acceleration, braking, 1/4 mile, and regular street driving. We also did a fun cruise-in with Factory Five owner’s in the Mid-Atlantic region and had a blast. All of this will be on Spike Channel’s Powerblock in a few weeks.

Original 427 (above) is owned by Jim Maxwell who dropped the hammer on his $700,000+ car and made us all proud.

Got the DVR set and also entered the sweepstakes.

I originally followed up on Factory Five for the Roadster kit -- then you started to develop the 818. But I'll be happy with either one!

Way to go, Dave! Congratulations and thanks on providing a "mid life crisis" for all of us who were growing up in the 50's & 60's.

Great episode, good to "meet" Jim and see the Mk IV put through its paces. It was like a 30 minute commercial for Factory Five!

I am with many of you here hoping to win that contest and although I hope I win, I sincerely wish everyone luck, because whoever wins will have a serious prize!!

It was fun to see the original 427, but I will take a Factory Five that I would be thrilled to drive and enjoy!

Regards,

Steve

I felt sorry for the poor little 427 Cobra getting beat up on by that big bad FFR roadster! It just wasn't fair (ha - ha!). Seriously, I was not expecting it to be that bad of a beat down. WEK.

I just watched this show and the FFR car looks great. I love the stance/sound of how it comes together, really looks great, I've entered the contest as well :)

One thing I was surprised by is the slower 1/4 mile time. With 450hp and 2300lbs, I would expect mph in the 120s and 11sec quarter mile times. This ran a 12.8 at 114? that's basically what my camaro runs with 350rwhp (425crank) and I have a 1000lbs more.

Did you just let off after you knew you won or am I missing something?

I think with drag radials the FFR would have gotten well into the 11's. It got a little squirrely, as shown in the one scene. Great show!
