Hi Ted,
Which of these three would you consider the best high performance option? I noticed that the steel bodied Bilstein is not rebuildable, but the other two are. Are they adjustable? And do you have them in stock?
Sorry for all the questions.

Hi Ted:
I'm sure we'll be talking with you when we get our car back together. Frank was most impressed with the ride in Ron's car and I'm assuming it's the test car for these packages.

I had been thinking that adjustable shocks were what it would take to tame these cars. But it sure sounds like you guys have worked through the variables and found the solution that works best for the GTM. I see no reason not to trust your many years of experience in racing and car set up.
Thanks for your efforts, and for finding the solution that doesn't necessarily break "an already cracked" bank.
You've pretty much made this a "no brainer" type decision for the rest of us.
I'll be ordering the Genesis package for my car. (Sorry Mr. Penske)...

Hey Steve, Ron's car has the Genesis package.
Must be alright, you know how hard it is to impress Frank.
We are working with the guys at Genesis on the double adjustable, should have more info in a day or 2.
Thanks for the good response on these everyone.
Sorry for the crappy video, I tend to ramble on...

Hi Stig,
All of our shocks have the same proprietary valving. The steel shocks are our value added line and some guys just don't need a aluminum shock. Our top of the line double adjustable performance Genesis shock dose have the ability to be fine tuned for those folks that want the option to fine tune their shocks for different track events.
Best Wishes, Ron QRP

Ron,,,
These look like really nice offerings. A couple of questions if I might. Based on your comment about the valving, is it fair to say the compression and rebound dampening levels are the same in all three shocks? Why would I want the Aluminum Bilstein vs the steel? Is it just the ability to rebuild? I didn't see double adjustable shocks on the website,, or did I miss the fact that the Genesis shocks you have are double adjustable? Any chance my Koni coil over kit will work with these? What are the lengths of these shocks compressed and extended? Are there dyno charts you might share?
Thanks!

Hi Fred,
Yes, they are valved the same way. The steel Bilstein are none rebuildable with no shredder valve. The aluminum shocks are lighter and can be rebuilt. As of right now our high end double adjustable are made by Genesis.
Ted did extensive research regarding proper length and valving and all of that information is proprietary. The spring rates are what ever the customer wants. We have our own SKUNK WORKS.
If you have the old coils 350/650 you could use them. If you have the 450 in the front I think it's to much for the street in my opinion.
I personalty have the non adjustable aluminum Genesis shocks with 375 coils in the front and 650's in the back. I absolutely love the sway bar/ shock set up that have on my car. With Ted's chassis setup tips and the sway bar shock combo it is truly a super car.
I went from a twitchy nerve racking ride to nirvana.

Very nice, I am thinking about buying a set of your shocks. I am still contemplating whether to add your offered anti roll bar kit. Is it possible to get a photo which shows how the swaybar runs between the left and right frame? Or even better a measurement relative from the upper shock mount, where I would start drilling the hole for the swaybar. The images I have seen so far are always from the outside and from an angle, so it is really hard to judge where the sway bar mounts need to go exactly. I just want to be sure that the swaybar clears all the "intestines".
Thanks........Eugen

Great product offering guys, very interested. So the factory five/koni collars will not work with any of these shocks?
Thanks

Hey Aman, the Koni threaded collars would fit the Bilstein steel shocks, but the top spring hat is totally different. unfortunately, Bilstein only sell them together as a kit. I am working to see if we can get just the top spring hat by itself.
Thanks for the good response to our shock packages.

HI Ted,
I checked, I am not able to fit the swaybar in my early beta kit. There are definitely some structural things in the way. So my question: Which springs would you recommend if I went without the swaybar? I now have #750 in the back and yellow springs for the front, where I cannot read any rating.
I will definitely order a set of your aluminium shocks!
Thanks...........Eugen

Hello Ted,
many thanks, got your Bildstein shocks with 450/650 springs. These were easy to replace and fit perfectly! I had the first test ride with the new shocks yesterday! The ride and safety has definitely improved. Before the Bilsteins I had the yellow Koni shocks. Now especially the front seems to be much better damped, the ride feels smoother. In my vicinity I have a long 40mph curve with bad tarmac - with the Konis the front started to relocate sideways sooner and felt much more "springy" and a little uncontrollable, much better now :-)
My suspension settings were:
Front/ Rear
Toe in: 3mm / 2.5 mm
Castor: 2 degrees (all I could get with slotted UCAs)
Camber: -1/-0,6 degrees

I only intend to use my GTM for street use. However, I am concerned about bottoming out (especially with driveways). One solution I have seen on the forums is to installl a ram lift under the shocks to temporarily lift the cvar for these type of hazards. If I forego the ram lift and upgrade the Koni shocks to the QRP shocks, does it accomplish the same thing?

Hi Doc. I think you'll still need to look into some sort of lift system, whether it's RamLift or something else. Unless I'm missing something; where you set the ride height on the shocks is the only way that they might come into play as far as getting you over driveway angles or speed bumps. Otherwise you need a "helper". For me, the RamLift-Pro was the best solution.
There's absolutely no way that I could get into or out of my driveway without it. (And I don't even have my splitter mounted yet).

The Shock swaps that are being talked about here are simply to provide better damping and more predictability of how the car handles in a straight line and during cornering.

Stig,
Thanks for the clarification. I watched your videos with the ram lift pro as you went up and down your driveway. I even posted them to my blog http://supercarbuild.blogspot.com. I'll just add this to my options and add ons section on my budget.

Stig,
Thanks for the clarification. I saw your videos a couple of days ago of your beautiful car navigating your steep drive way.
