I have my base kit, but no donor yet. I am finishing up some promised house renovations before I get serious.
I have my UCAs, LCAs, front shocks and F panels installed.
Tonight The Bachelor is on, so I get some garage time. (It makes me think she doesn't like my comments:p)Can I mark, drill and cleco the rest of my panels? I can't imagine that the actual location would change as I get serious components in place. Or am I going to get myself in a jam?
Just looking to have some fun for an hour here and there.
Or is there something else constructive that I could do?
Thanks!!!

No problem drilling all of the aluminum. Drill away. You can install the firewall, F panels foot boxes except the tops of the driver side. Floors, rear wall, trunk sides etc. I would leave out the trunk floors, trans tunnel cover and driver foot box tops. Makes wiring and assebly much easier. Also you can assemble your headlights. that might take an hour right there.

Drill on, man... just don't rivet panels into place until you are absolutely sure you don't need to have access. I'm approaching first-start and still only have the F-panels, firewall, footboxes (except the outer and top panels of the driver's side), and the front vertical panel of the trans tunnel installed. But, everything else have been pre-fitted, marked, drilled (as well as the chassis), and tweeked/trimmed as required.
Have fun and don't be afraid to jump around in the build order as you deem necessary, just always try to think a few steps ahead to avoid re-work. That said, many will admit that we really build these cars a few times with all the mock-up before we actually build them for the last time to drive.
(looks like Mike beat me to the punch with a nearly identical answer by hitting submit just before me :o)

I think you can start installing brake lines now because, at least, for mine MKIII the line for the one going forward from the rear ended just a foot or two from the front edge of the driver foot box. The front lines can be done and end at a T close to the left wheel brake line. Then you can leave the rest until you figure what brake configuration you will use. I sort of enjoyed doing this part of the build. It gives you the opportunity to be creative. If that doesn't turn you, just follow the pics in the manual and on the forum. Good luck, WEK.

Thanks guys. It looks like I will be missing the rose ceremony tonight.
If you don't know what I mean, consider yourself lucky.
