As I noted in my build thread, I came in from a drive yesterday and my fuel pressure gauge was reading 3-3.5psi and I was getting some surging while driving. I adjusted the fuel pressure gauge back to 5.5 to 6psi when at operating temp but didn't take it out again. I activated the fuel pump this morning and the fuel pressure gauge now reads 8-8.5 psi cold, which is more than I want upon startup.
Just trying to understand what's going on here. Engine starts up fine, cold or hot. Does the fuel expand and give that kind of variation when cold? Or is this something else like a fuel pump going bad? When I adjusted yesterday, I probably gave it a full quarter turn, maybe a little more, to get it back to 5.5-6psi.
