Has anyone trailered their hotrod using either a U-Haul Toy Hauler or car hauler? If so, were there any difficulties like front grill clearance or tire width or ramp heights? Would you recommend one over the other? Getting ready for roadworthiness inspection.

Re Trailer...............

My car trailer was not a "drop tail" style. I built stepped ramps out of 1"x 8" pine and mounted them on the inside of the drop down rear door. They were positioned so that as the front tires went up over the hinge and started into the trailer, the rear tires were climbing the stepped ramps. This kept the car from bottoming as it rolled on in or out. I can't find a picture of them attached inside the trailer, but here's one of them assembled.

Hope this helps,

race ramps are light weight and will extend out the ramps on the trailer

Thanks for both suggestions. Found a buddy with a drop tail enclosed trailer. I like the stepped ramp idea, especially with the car being so low. I still need to get some internal measurements from him, especially near the drop tail to see if my rear tires will fit. I have 315's on and they stick out from under the rear fenders by 1/2" per side.
