13” rear IRS brakes

I am having a heck of a time getting the pads installed with the supplied clips. The clips are pretty loose and just fall out if I don’t hold them. If I get them oriented just right I can start to get the pads placed but then they pop out. I’ve gotten a pad in with only one of the clips but it’s just too tight with both of them. If I remove the clips altogether the pads fit fine.

Is there more of a trick to this? Or should I lube up the ends and just leave the clips out?

The clips stop rattles. One would be fine. Or grind down the nub on the pads.

I assume you mean I could trash the clips. Or are you saying the 13" brakes are trash?
