Car is running great, but something is bugging me. Having seen several 289 photos, I’m wondering why my rear tires don’t come all the way out to the edge of the wheel opening. Other pix on here show the tires coming all the way out to the upper edge of the wheel arch. The body is jammed up against the DS frame.

Is the track too narrow, the body too wide, or that's just the way they are?

I am reluctant to add wheel spacers, but that may be an option. Other than getting 17x10.5 rear wheels, does anyone have any other ideas how to scootch out my wheels a bit?

Nothing wrong with spacers if you buy a quality set. We use them on the back of daytonas all the time. 10.5 wheels will fit. too I have done it.

My FIA car has issues as well but different. The passenger side tire is further out from the fender lip than the driver's side. DS is about 1/2" in and PS is about 1/2" out. It drives reasonably well but I will work to correct this when I have it aligned. I think it will balance out with a bit of work. This is as I bought the car, I'm still sorting it out.

My front sidewalls are outside of the wheel wells. Not sure if this is per design or something isn't correct.

Solid axle 275/60-15s / 245/60-15 F5R wheels but other than 15's I don't know the exact sizes.

It’s all a function of rear axle width flange to flange, rim width and offsets. What are your specs?

Not sure if you will find this useful, but I have a 289 with a Moser 3 link, 15" Halibrands and Cooper Cobra tires 275/60R15.
