I have figured out how to polish a Crank (that is in good shape) in less than 8 min.
The real time saver is the mains where I did all five in under a min. (NOT A TYPO)
First I had a crank that only had the lines in it where the bearing are not close to it. I used the finest grit scotch brite (grey??) i could find.
Then with the block on the stand and the Main oil galley holes taped over. I cut the scotch brite into 1.5 inch wide strips. Lay the strip across
the main webs parallel to the webs. Then gently set the crank down on the block and spray penetrating oil on crank journals.
Turn the crank with a ratchet and hold the end pieces of scotch brite on the thrust bearing surfaces. 30-40 seconds tops Done.
The weight of the crank does the work.
Then on the rods i used the usual Wrap the the scotch brite and rope and pull method.
