Clacking side pipes

I've noticed recently when driving my MK4 that my sidepipes make a "clack" sound when I hit potholes or bumps. I checked all the hanger hardware, and everything is tight. My guess is that the rubber hanger has developed more play in it over the last 7,000 miles of driving and maybe is allowing the arm to hit the bottom of the frame with the bumps. Has anyone else encountered this and what did you do to fix it? Thanks!

Another likely cause is that the internal baffle has come loose. A couple of well placed sheet metal screws (an inch or two back from where the pipe transitions to larger diameter) will often draw it back up tight.

I put a hose clamp around the rubber hanger and tightened until the pipes are level. Works good so far.
