View Full Version : Exhaust Gaskets - Remflex?

When I got my GasN pipes, I also bought a couple of their gaskets. There was no brand, but they were just like the Remflex and fit great. They looked like these and are the same ones Breeze sells as well:

I went to reorder and thought these were the same as the Remflex 8023's, but they are not. The Remflex 8023's have smaller exhaust holes.

Anyone know the brand and model of the ones Gas N pipes and Breeze sells? Or is everyone just cutting the middle out of the 8023's?

I think most of us are ditching the gaskets and using Permatex Copper.

Great post...Yeah, I'd like to hear input on this topic, too. The ones I got from Gas N are similar to the Remflex but a bit thinner. I bought the Remflex 8023 after taking the pipes off and on a few times and found the exhaust holes smaller. I have opened the holes up with tin snips and a drum sander but have not installed them yet. They look ok, but I found it difficult to trim the graphite and supportive wire mesh without doing some damage (at least cosmetically). I had read the Remflex 8032 has the same bolt and hole spacing, with the larger exhaust holes, but the outside shape has to be cut to fit our application (it is square in shape). I have not confirmed this myself, though. I'd like to see what gaskets are used by most here, or if most have indeed jumped ship to high-temp copper RTV sealant.

I had some wedges, by the time I tried gaskets, it kicked the pipe out to far so I went with the High temp exhaust sealer, just make sure you are careful to assemble in the proper order after fitting. (don't ask how I know to provide that tip!) let them set overnight after bolting together. With that, I disassemble at the ball collector and the rest stays attached to the pipe.

Store those gaskets in the round file

Thought about going with the Ultra Copper as you’ve suggested Rich but having used the gaskets that Gas N send out, after compression, they need to be scraped off and they leave a graphite residue on the mating surfaces after removal that doesn’t seem to want to come off. Would that cause an adhesion issue for the Permatex?

Use a block and some 220 sandpaper, but honestly when bolted and dried, I can't imagine that being an issue.

I've got a set coming from Breeze. Think I'll stick with the gaskets for now. Still not sure where these specific gaskets are sourced as only Breeze and Gas N has them, and they are the only ones that fit perfectly to the pipe, but thanks everyone for the feedback.
