Taken awhile to post here.
Hi all, from the Great White North!
Purchased a MKIII in 2004. Had it on the road in 2008. (My daughter got married in between) It now has 22000 miles on it and about 15 hours of track driving. It was a lot easier to get in and out of it in 2008!!.
Hand built Cleavor (Boss 302 clone), Windsor block with 2V Aussie Cleveland heads. Built to rev to 8K rev limiter is set at 7.2K which it sees regularly.
IRS retrofit, bought the car as a 3 or 4 link, forget which, and ordered the IRS kit from FF5.
Ford performance T5Z World Class 5 speed, Lakewood scatter shield, Auburn Pro limited slip dif, 3:55 rear gears.
Fly wheel is a 15 lb Fidenza unit. The mill builds power instantly on throttle application, makes it a lot of fun (and scary ) on the track!
Custom headers, Holley 650 dual accelerator pumps, mechanical secondaries, I tuned the carb., jets, accelerator pump springs and cam. That took 2 years to sort out. Found out the metering bodies on the carb. weren't stock Holley bits, they were something custom, used for short oval dirt tracks. Engine wouldn't run below 1000 RPM without playing with the throttle.
Multi angle grind on the valves, dual beehive springs, Solid roller lifters, roller rockers, MSD distributor with a modified advance curve. (The advance comes on sooner and quicker than stock).
Mildish Cam, engine has a compression ratio of just over 10:1, run the 93 Octane gas from Petro-Canada.
When I figure out how to post a photo I wil, l the "Insert and Image" button doesn't seem to work for me, most likely something I am doing.
Anyways have a great day!
