Hi All,

I searched the forums several times and have not come across a solution..

-Gen 3 Coyote with vintage gauges.
-I connected the purple tach wire at the coil pack. (there is a purple that goes to all of the coil packs, I connected to the "other" conductor.
-I removed the connector from the Control pack, and signal wire (purple) from the back of the Tach. I have continuity. (Also checked there is no short to ground).
-If I remember back when I made these connections. this should be a direct run- So if I'm not mistaken, this checks out.
-I programed the tach to "5"
-upon start up, all gauges, including tach, do there little dance-

-however, with engine running, even when revved, the tach reads zero.

Other than this-I'm thrilled to have done my first start, And a short go cart to boot:cool:
....Fingers crossed for simple fix....lol

(1) Do you mean calibrated to "5" or "0.5." It won't work unless it's 0.5. Just above zero on the tach dial. (2) When you start the calibration process, does it start at 0.5? Meaning where you set it was properly saved?

Meaning where you set it was properly saved?

....THANK YOU! for your response.

(My Gauge is X100 so called it 5 )

Yes- Like your pic. I am at ".5"

-I also Tried 5 (50 on mine) as well as 4.
-When I start the program process (power up with button in) it begins in
whatever position I last set. So, seems like it's properly saving.

No matter the program setting-I get "0" RPM reading (even if i throttle up).

Are you sure you should be connecting the tach sense wire to the common purple wire on the coils? Try the other coil wire ( does not matter which coil)

Cheers,
Nige

Edit: whoops, just reread and realized you stated that

Not to state the obvious but I think I would try the other wire. The process is pretty simple and since your tach powers up, appears to be saving a setting but nothing happens tells me there is no signal for it to respond to. It sounds like you connected to the correct wire but all things being equal, you don't have a signal.

The F5 instructions say to connect the tach wire (purple) from your gauge to the "blue/red" wire at the coil pack which sounds like what you did?

Thanks again for respnses!!

-I did not connect to "The Purple" at the coil.
-Was considering what you suggested - just try the purple-

-I'll be contacting Speed Hut-would like to know what kind of meter reading
I should get from tach signal wire to ground.

ALL GOOD!!!
THANK YOU GUYS ONCE AGAIN!!

It seems the pin in the tach connector was not properly seated.
I fiddled with it, felt a click-...WORKING!!!!

Thank you again!!!
