Hardtop interchangeable ? MK III to MK IV

Will a hardtop that fits a MK III , fit a MK IV ?

The short answer is straight out of the box, no. I've done it but to make it fit requires surgery since the shape of the Mk4 body is different aft of the cockpit.

Mk 4 with a Mk1,2,3 hardtop:

The bottom of the top has to be cut off then spread, reshaped and fiberglassed back together followed by finish bodywork.
