View Full Version : Coupe Windshield Wiper Wiring
I'm using the Specialty Power Windows WWK-2 wiper kit and have mounted the motor on the firewall on the passenger side as most have done. Now I'm looking at how best to route the wires from the switch to the motor. Has anyone run the wires to the end of the firewall and through the passenger firewall extension? Any reason that's a bad idea?

Here's mine. Don't know if this answers your question but FWIW. Looks like you have your wiper motor mounted a little more to the right than I do. Ignore the dust. Just taken. Still haven't gotten around to cleaning up and maintenance for spring.

Thank you, Paul. I was really asking if running the wires on the inside of the firewall and then around the end of it and through the extension panel that mounts to the firewall is a bad idea. I don't know how tight things get above the door hinge once the body is on.

If my memory still works, which I question at times, those extension pieces get trimmed and fit after the body is on. Trying to snake a wire harness thru that piece and mount it at the same time might be a challange. Not a lot of room to work after the body is in place. Not a very clear pic but you can see how high the hinge is.

Scott,
That helps a lot. I'm going to look at a different approach.
Thanks,

Dave - this is what I did:

You can see I haven't terminated the ground yet but I will probably do so under one of the studs going through the firewall if I can get a good enough ground.

Exactly what I was thinking. Thanks, Tim.
