Hi All - playing around with the first time body fitment on MK5 build. This is my first FFR build and I am finding the instructions for this portion to be lacking in comparison to my rookie experience level…
I have the bulb seals on as outlined in the manual, the body is sitting in place, the rear quick jack bolts are in place. As I look at the general alignment around the door openings, at the exhaust cut outs, and above the dash support bar (as examples) - it appears to me that the body needs to slide forward for better alignment. When I pull on it from the front, it comes forward, but does not stay.
Do the front quick jack bolts just protrude through the opening with no positioning or guidance?
I am afraid to start attaching at the rocker areas because I feel like it needs to be able to shift - but maybe it is just that it sagging in the middle and that is the problem?
What am I missing?

We put our body on last night. Having similar issues to you. Didn't see that anyone responded so I thought I would add to your post. I think our issue is that the body is hitting our headers and not allowing it to move forward. I am guessing we might have to remove the body and trim the header opening.

Manual doesn't call for bulb seal across the rear cockpit wall, but it appears to be needed.

Front quick jack bolts are smaller than front quick jack holes. I saw in a MK4 post that it was recommended to install 3/4 sleeves over the existing front sleeves. Is that still recommended for the MK5. The manual shows a picture of a nylon bushing between the front lower body and the frame. No nylon bushings in the kit. Are those needed or recommended?

Josh,
I added some comments to Pete&Scott's thread which you might find helpful. I always eliminate the internal rear spacers during mock up. After you're in the final position you can either cut them to length or use my all thread "Kleiner Mod" to lock it into position.

Thanks Jeff - I was wondering if the internal rear spacers were the culprit and/or whether they end up being cut to length. That makes a bunch of sense.
