A long journey. Purchased in 2021. Arrived on the day of my father's funeral in Feb 2022. Now, finally assembled. Almost complete, as far as complete ever goes with these cars.
FF Gen 3 Complete Type 65 Coupe kit
Engine: 347 stroker, AFR 185 cc aluminum heads, Trickflow cam, Holley 4160 carb. Rebuilt by my sons and me from a Ford 302 in a junkyard 1995 F150 truck.
Transmission: Tremec TKX
Rear end: 3 link Mustang 8.8 rear end, 3.27 final drive, Cobra rear brakes
Exhaust: Boig Quiet Pipes
Interior: Russ Thompson turn signal, Kirkey classic coupe seats, carpet, Factory Five air conditioning
Paint: Princess Blue and Wimbledon White. (I did it myself! It ain't perfect, but it's race car good!)
Special thanks to Russ Thompson and Bob Boig! Both gentlemen took my calls and helped me work through several items. Russ even promised to come see me in Santa Barbara. Both are missed!
I also want to thank Brent Burchfield of Snakebite Motorworks for the real cool pontoon covers, hood rollers and the custom side wing mounts for my Russ Thompson side wings. I haven't been brave enough to drill into the body to mount them yet!
Lots of random parts from Breeze Automotive and Period Correct!
This is a great forum and a great community. I couldn't have done it without the amassed knowledge and friendliness here.
See you on the road!
