The power steering rack bracket doesn't seem to be the right size... what is the best path forward to properly secure the rack?

Yours is wider than the typical rack at the location where the mounting boss is. Based on what I see of your rack, you likely don't need the extra bracket at all. The bracket is supposed to help prevent cracks in the welds on the mounting boss.

I agree with Papa. Call FFR. I bet they'll confirm that you don't need the safety bracket.
