I received notification from SF that they will no longer insure my MkIV after May 2026. Apparently, they're getting out of insuring these types of vehicles. Anyone else in this same boat, and what options are you looking at?
Thanks,
Greg

I'm in the same situation. They are farming the contracts out to Hagerty. I got a quote from SF and contacted Robbin from Midwest which happened to also be from Hagerty but at a slightly higher rate. I think I'll stick w/ SF via Hagerty. The only drawback is that I'm not allowed to "turn off" my policy during the non-driving months like I was able to do w/ SF. The premiums for SF annually were actually more than for Hagerty, but I saved money overall by being able to disable my policy for a few months. I think it'll be a wash or just slightly more expensive w/ Hagerty, but still likely my best option at this time.

They did the same on my 68 Camaro and FFR33, they went through Hagerty and it was actually a few buck less.

I clarified this with my agent when I questioned it recently. State Farm still sells their customer the policy but they are administered by Hagerty.

My State Farm guy explained they sublet Roadster coverage to Hagerty's which is OK with me, Hagertys understands the market.
For similar reasons I went with Good Sam for RV insurance, they understand RVs.
I bought a Tesla and went to State Farm. They insure it, but for as much as I spend to insure three other vehicles. Aluminum ain't cheap to fix.
WI registration billed me $175/yr for EV because I do not pay gas tax. Caching caching.

As a follow-up, State Farm/Hagerty just sent me a letter, offering me the same coverage I had through SF, but now through Hagerty. It's actually $8/mo cheaper than SF for the same coverage. Easy peasie.

I think my annual premiums were a bit less as well w/ Hagerty vs SF, but you're no longer able to turn off the insurance in non-driving months, making it a bit more expensive annually.

I bought my wife an INEOS Grenadier. We live in a place that can be very inaccessible in storms, and now she is ready for the zombie apocalypse lol. Anyway, our insurance company, The Hartford, said there is no such company as INEOS, and there is no such car since it was not on their list. I called Progressive and had it insured with all our other vehicles in 10 minutes. If you have anything non-standard, some of these companies can't deal with it.
