Need to go buy another socket, and the manual does not specify the size of the actual front hub nut. Is it 36mm or 1 7/16". Also should I clean the powder coating off of the threads on the hub, the spindle itself is clean, why wouldn't they leave the treads clean?

In my experience, the rear IRS nut is 36mm. I use a 32mm for the front hub nut. But maybe the parts you received are different. There are OE parts and also aftermarket parts. I wouldn't clean anything off the threads as long as it threads on. Often they have thread locker already applied on the nuts.
I don't know how it compares but we bought a complete Type 65 kit last October and the front hub nut takes a 36mm socket.

Thank you very much to both of you, I measured the nut using my calipers and it looks like 36mm for the front spindles, so I will order one from good ole Amazon :D

I just went through this yesterday, stopped at the local Autozone. I ended up with a 36mm , although still sort of a sloppy fit, socket. For both front spindle nut and rear IRS axle nut.
