Ok Jeff, it would be very considerate if you'd stop posting these pictures while I'm about to finalize my color selection. Geez.

Beautiful work ! Those colors work well together for sure.
I keeping looking at different shades of blue, one of my current favorites is Miami Blue with black stripes.
I'll probably change my mind 20 more times before I'm actually ready to paint.

Love how some of these colors really look like a totally different color under varied lighting conditions.

That red is an amazing color! My first thought was that it's a tri-color, but it isn't, is it!

I opened the thread thinking there were users that needed to be banned. Glad I was wrong!!!

Jeff,
Great color combination! Have been waiting for these pictures and it certainly solidifies my choice for Randy Apple Red. I've struggled with stripe color options that match up well. The Punaluu Stone hits the mark. Moving along with my MK5 build and hopefully future schedules will mesh to get it to you for completion.
Shoot me a PM.

WOW... "Randyapple" is legit! If I was doing red that would be it.... NICE WORK!

Jeff got any cool metal flake or pearl Black colors to suggest? Talk me out of jet black or black void, because "Black Meet Kettle" is as wild as I have gone.

Spectacular!!! Is the red a three stage?

Spectacular!!! Is the red a three stage?

No, it's a custom formula that creates the super deep tri coat effect with a base/clear. I've done a few using it and you're right, it is spectacular!

That's the look I was looking for when I painted mine with Ford Ruby Red, but it doesn't have the deep candy look yours has. Just awesome looking.

No, the ford RR doesn't compare to this. Mazda's second formulation of Soul Red is very close but it's a tri coat process with a complex mid coat (and according to what my guys in the paint store tell me when the collision center painters see one of those come into the shop they all call in sick :D).

I had looked at the Mazda color and heard the same thing about the midcoat which is why I went with the Ruby Red. I like the way it looks but its not as vibrant as the Crystal Soul Red or the one you just finished. I have always been a fan of the candy colors and in 1971 I painted a Volkswagon (of all cars) Candy Apple Red Lacquer over silver base with paint bought from JC Whitney. I think it took 12 or 13 coats to get it to cover, and it looked ok but faded out in just two years. The paint cost more than the car was worth. We all start somewhere.
