Hello all,

Finally got the body on, trimmed the rear aluminum in a couple of areas, and I'm content about the front/rear and side to side locations. Put on the gasn exhaust, and I'm now wondering just how much to trim in these areas. How much did most folks trim off? FF did the original cutouts.... I'm thinking of cutting back about 1/2" all the way around the opening. Thoughts?

Also really looks like the trunk lip where the bulb seal will go is pretty wide. Any recommendations on what the final width in that area should be? or should I just leave it alone....

Half inch is good but I wouldn't do any cutting until the body is in it's final position with the pipes adjusted to fit. I can pretty much guarantee that when fitting the doors the body will have to be pulled outward in front of the rear wheel on the driver's side which in turn means that the end of the pipe will also come outward making the space between the pipe and body change at the cutout. It's a snowball effect with one change leading to another ;) I've never cut the trunk flange back...no need to.

Cheers,
Jeff

Thanks Jeff!

I've been scratching my head for a week thinking "what's the least body work I can do, while still getting it to a drivable condition, then send it to Jeff later"

Sounds like doing the hood and the doors first is the correct order of things, and THEN worrying about the exhaust....

I messed with the exhaust holes much more than I anticipated. I think it's one of those things not *****ed about on here or the fb page much, and those things catch allot of people (like myself) off guard. The things people struggle with I found easy, but because I learned form others on here and was ready primarily because of this site.

I cut the trunk lip back, then had to glass it back in.... Don't make my mistake. As JK said" leave it as is" !
