View Full Version : Thoughts on a "parts interchange" thread

At the moment, many of us that have had our kits delivered are waiting on parts that were missed in our shipments. Between supply chain issues, and the brutal winter MA has had, they just got hit with another 30" of snow yesterday, FFR is struggling to keep pace with getting stuff shipped out.
I feel for those that got hit in that blizzard...just crazy.

I'm sure those of us that got our kits, received doubles of some of the parts others didn't get, or ended up not using them. For an example, a friend was missing his fuse block bracket, I received two. I know a builder waiting on one steering rack spacer, I too only received one, but bought the Breeze billet ones. So, can reach out to that builder and send him the one I have.

I myself am missing the .25 spacers for the IRS Toe arms.

Would a sticky thread help get parts in hand to keep our builds progressing ?

289 kit here…I received an extra center dash support bracket, and there are at least a half dozen parts I do not plan on using. I figured I would wait til I’m done with my build and then post them in the Classifieds section. Mostly with the attitude of “pay it forward”

I too planned the same, I've even got a box going of stuff I planned on doing that with. Although, if it could help others keep progressing on their builds, why wait ?
It was just a thought.

I second this. I have changed course a couple of times on the build using parts I didn’t think I was going to use. Better to have them and not need them than to have had them, gotten rid of them and then need them.

I am inspired by this thread. I have a pair of original Mark II upper control arms that I won't be using... free for the asking, just pay shipping. I will also post this in classified section.
And as I remember now, another member of this forum GAVE me some really cool, machined, anodized "keepers" that prevented my new, adjustable upper control arms from moving after installation. The guy, not even knowing me, reached out to me and GAVE them to me....
