Well I had to change my electric power steering motor and it is slightly larger (220W) and now it looks as if the shorty filter isn't going to back out. It's going to have to be mutilated to get out and I'm not fiddling with the motor and linkage. Runs great, no binding etc. so, that's not an option, for now. I thought I would buy a 90* filter flange by Ford Performance Parts that Summit sells. I've never had to use one in the past, so I have zero experience with them. So, before I drop $150+ on it, I need clarification from those in the know.

My question is...when mounting the flange, can it be rotated to any clock position? In other words, can it be rotated to 7 or 8-clock position in lieu of 3,6,9 or 12-clock positions? At the 9-clock position, it's marginal and looks to interfere with my lower radiator hose. It's tight and I may be same situation as I am now only with a part that I can't use.

Appreciate any input. Thanks all.

I purchased a $43(2024) knock off from Amazon for my MK4 SBF and it mounts in any position. Set your angle and tighten the center nut. Works great, no leaks, unlike the FFR supplied remote filter. It was a WIKIBB brand which probably makes the Ford too... all these small parts made in China.

Thanks for responding. With a bit more digging I did see how they're installed and can adapt to my situation. Thanks agin.

I did the same thing (Chinese purchase: forty-ish dollars) and was impressed with the quality surface finishes.
Mine was for a BPE 347, but have not yet started it up.
