I had my MK4 windshield frame powder coated, which required disassembling the frame that wraps around the windshield itself. While reassembling, I broke one of the brass L brackets.

FFR says they only sell the whole windshield kit and won’t sell just the bracket. Any suggestions? Or if anyone had to buy a windshield kit but didn’t use the frame, can I buy the L brackets off you? I couldn’t find a suitable part online that would fit the dimensions.

Whitby sell them; in stainless with the screws.

I’m not sure in Whitbeys sells the angled brackets. They sell the long strips for sure. It wouldn’t be too hard to fabricate your own. I’m sure you can go to onlinemetals.com and find a suitable piece of brass

Check out your local Precious Metal fabricator or machine shop. They can easily duplicate the bracket. Maybe a fellow car enthusiast would cut you a deal?

Thanks everyone. Posted on Facebook as well and everyone concluded to just fab a new one so I’ll do that. Seems like something FFR should be able to provide, especially since there are lots of reports of this same issue.

I’m assuming going with stainless steel would be a bad idea because of the windshield needing some flex, right?

FFR doesn’t manufacture the windshields. They buy them as complete kits from vendors, which is why they don’t provide replacement parts

I do have a spare windshield that is cracked. Where are you located? I'd want to get rid of the whole thing, so shipping might be too much.

McMaster Carr and my local Ace Hardware stocks 1/8 & 3/16 brass strip. Should be able to fab one up pretty quick.
Good luck
