Is there any way to check the status of parts delivery? I ordered Louvers and trunk struts 29 Jan 2026 and have not heard and I can't find a tracker on the forum.

I have a 289 FIA USRRC kit, delivered 9/1/2025
Side vent louvers have been on forever backorder for quite awhile. Fortunately they aren’t needed to get started on the car.

Hi, I just went thru this with an order for J-pipes. No there is no status update or tracker. I only received an order confirmation initially. After 3 weeks I called and was told my order looks good and parts are in stock, so you will get the parts. I did get a FedX shipment email with tracking once parts were on their way. My part order took about 4 weeks. I know FFR has been going thru some system updates so that maybe some of the delay.

Don't i know it, my car is just weeks away from completion, and I've been checking those louvers every day now since Nov. 2025. The good news is the parts showed in stock when I ordered them in Jan. this year.

I don't have a 289 but I received some POL parts just the other day and my assembled louvers were in my shipment.
I just got another email that I have another package on the way so maybe some of the backlog is starting to break loose.

You really don't need them fortunately until you're ready to paint.

I ordered some parts with no update around the same time. I sent an email asking for an update and not long after that the parts were shipped, I got them this week.

I’m running into this. Received my coupe kit January 25. After inventory, sent my list of missing parts (MiK and other shortages - only about 10 items) via email to the email address on the F5 website on Feb 10. No response. On Feb 16, I sent another email asking for acknowledgment of my missing parts. Nothing. On Wednesday I called to speak with someone, was told I will get a call back from tech. Still nothing today… will call again tomorrow.

Very frustrating. No idea what kind of system they have for sending parts out. Car was delivered just before Xmas. Called and spoke to person at FFR on 1/12 about parts that were missing after I completed my inventory. I thought he'd get those sent out asap. On 1/12 I emailed asking if he was able to get them sent. On 1/14 I received a FedEx package of some of the BOL items. None of my missing items were included but I did get my assembled louvers that it seems many people have been waiting on longer than I have. Got a response from the email on 1/19 saying he would make sure all the lists check out correctly..Never answered if he got them sent out but obviously I know the answer now as I still haven't received them. Emailed him and the partsales email on 2/11 and no response from that. Today I received my wheels and driveshaft but still none of the missing items. About to take the one steering rack spacer I have to a store and see about just having an identical one made so I can get my steering rack installed.

Edit 2/20: Got email this morning. My parts should be coming shortly. "..shipping team here has been absolutely cranking on MIK/POL items in the recent weeks." I also had asked if they plan to re-stock some apparel as just about everything they have is out of stock. "And we are working on apparel! A few of those designs were done by a former employee so we're working on a full overhaul on clothing and making more options available for those with different kits."
Also just got a FedEx email with tracking from FFR with "Missing in kit" listed.

I think many of us are waiting on parts, I have another shipment arriving tomorrow, not sure which B/O parts but its like Christmas when they arrive. I too am waiting on my CF dash, passenger side roll bar, brake reservoir, engine mounts, some trunk carpet pieces and misc pieces, but now have the majority of components. I have spoken to them on the phone and had some back and forth email. I think the shipping team is working their collective @$$ off trying to get parts out the door, hopefully your parts will arrive soon!

I got an email yesterday with an apology. We had some back and forth on a couple missing parts and Nick seems to be on it. Good news!

Not defending but posting to add perspective.

IMO the premise of an FFR vehicle is the relative affordability and the ability to get everything you need (mostly) from one source.

In order to keep costs down many of the kit components come from off-shore suppliers, and as we all know from buying from these places ourselves they are not the most reliable or communicative when it comes to shipping.

To those waiting for parts, hang in there, find some other part of your project to work on in the meantime, and know it will all work itself out in the end.

I have yet to see a build that has truthfully been brought to a complete standstill due to backordered/missing parts.

There's always something to do.

Hi all, saw this thread from a couple months ago. I took delivery mid-Feb and it has been crickets on POL and Missing in Kit. A couple key things I could use sooner than later is the steering rack and wire harness. Is anyone seeing these starting to come out? I saw some old threads about alternative steering racks, but not recent. Is there another steering rack people are using? Would appreciate any insight.

I think Factory Five went through significant upheaval last year and is still paying the price. Their customer service is pretty poor, shipment is slow and my gut tells me they are short handed, overwhelmed, or both. I called them two weeks ago regarding a small part which was incorrect. Dan acknowledged it and said they would send out another. I waited for confirmation but finally gave up as I wanted to install it (a steering rack fitting) so I could install my front sheet metal. I bought a replacement on Amazon, had it the next day. Yesterday I received confirmation of shipment but now it doesn't really matter.

I can't understand why it would take 10 or 12 days to ship an $18 part but it's indicative of a rocky process at best. I sincerely hope they get these bugs worked out sooner rather than later.

I have the same assessment you do.
I received two upper steering shafts but no middle steering shaft, the solid piece not the hollow one.
I didn't realize it until I went to install it I had the wrong one.
An email with pictures and two phone calls with no real response.
I wasn't worried about it but I'm at the point I need it to wrap up my footbox.
I guess I'll call again next week, missing my bottom battery mount too but I don't need it yet.
Hopefully things will get sorted soon as I know there have been lots of changes and new personnel.

You guys are pampered, try building one as Covid is winding down lol. Ordered my kit in September 21, delivered at the end of May 22. Four or five pages of POL parts and I ended up with a full page of MIK parts.

Most of this certainly wasn't Factory Five's fault as there were global supply chain issues. At the time they were so swamped they stopped answering the phone at all, there was a message saying to send an email.

Ultimately I found three things that kept me going.

If it's a small but needed part just buy it. I was missing the steering shaft bearing that goes on the firewall. Bought one from McMaster for $40 I think. The one from FFR didn't show up until months later.

The squeaky wheel gets the grease. I got to where I needed the gas tank & cover so I would email 2-3 times a day. After a couple of weeks I received a call from a guy in shipping asking how bad I needed the gas tank (the 50 emails wasn't a clue?) and I told him I was pretty much stopped. He got one right out to me.

Find someone, like one person, you can communicate with. For me it was Dave Lindsey and he was a Godsend.

One other thing, keep your ear to the ground. I needed the PS rack which was on my POL list. I saw Dave Smith doing one of his FB videos talking about supply chain issues and he was standing near a pallet of what I could see were PS racks. Like an entire pallet, must have been 250 of them! I did a screenshot, emailed it off, and had one in a few days. If you need something and hear of others getting it start squeaking.

I'm one of the lucky ones. I received my kit around Thanksgiving. There were a few items on the POL, but nothing really holding me back from getting started. I ordered a PS rack in Dec and returned the manual rack. It took about 3 months to get the PS rack, but no safety bracket or outer tie rods came, so waiting on that. There was a mishap with the dash (cut for vintage and not 289 gauges) and now that's on back order. I also had to request normal side louvers as the aluminum marked with the side lover parts number was actually the trunk hole covers. Also, the trunk sides were switched.

FFR got it all squared away so I'm just waiting on the outer tie rods, safety bracket, and a new dash. Hasn't stopped my build and I continue to enjoy and learn and feed Amazon with upgrades like braided 3/8 for future efi, etc.

I hope I didn't sound like I was beating up on FFR. Dave L, Dan and Nick have been really helpful. I agree this is an expensive hobby and the level service and/or attentiveness should be reflected, but I also believe FFR is doing its best with growing pains, turnover, and technology and supplier issues.
