I have my gen 3 installed I have 1/2" spacers at the TKX tail to lift it up for alignment and to raise the pan so its not below the rail. That has pivoted the engine forward some and the clearance from the crank pulley to the main cross tube is not somewhere around 1/8" at the 6 o'clock position only on the pulley. Its kind of at the edge of the pulley where I would be measuring. Is this too tight? Afraid it would hit once the engine mounts relax and the engine is under load. Looking for input. let me see if i can get a photo as its hard to see.

You installed the Coyote engine mount spacers, right?

Yes, the ones between the motor mounts. Only other option I'm seeing (if folks thought this is too close / I do ) is back off the transmission spacer

Having the pulley that close to the frame would make me uncomfortable. But that's not based on any real data, just a gut feeling.

I have that same bad feeling. Im thinking of swapping the spacers for a stack of washers and remove one at a time till I get comfy. Then turn the spacer down to the height of the washers and reinstall.

When you complete a fix I suggest validating the resuts with hard acceleration and decelleration in first gear, and a speed bump as fast as you are comfortable with.
I would wrap the frame tube with a couple tie wraps or modeling clay as a tell-tale.

Last night I took out 0.25" of trans shim and now the crank pulley clearance is more like 5/16"

You'll be fine. The Energy Suspension mounts allow a little bit of movement side-to-side and even then not very obvious. But very little front-to-back. Still wondering though what your answer to Jeff's question about the 1/2" spacers in the motor mounts. I've put 3/4 to 1-inch spacers in my Coyote builds and don't come that close to the front tube.

Are you adding additional spacers on top of what Factory Five provides with their install kit?

edwardb no just the kit spacers. Initially I added 1" at the trans, now Im more like a shallow 3/4". This is photos on my build thread post #210 Maybe I'm missing something but I think it all looks right.

I was referring to the 1/2" spacers in the engine mount from the Coyote installation kit. Just making sure you have them installed. My "3/4 to 1-inch spacers" reference was to under the transmission mount. Sorry for the confusion. Sounds like that's where you are and should be good to go. What you have is a pretty typical setup in my experience.

Yeah, sorry got mixed signals. Yes I have a total of 3/4" spacer under the trans mount. I tossed the FFR 1/2" spacers as they were not flat. Since I needed a bit more to get the pan up I just replaced the 1/2" ffr transmission spacers with 1" spacers that are now 3/4" spacers.
Sounds like I'm good, I sure feel a bit better even though I have the pan at the absolute bottom of the rail / potentially lower at the back edge.
