I ordered Speedhut gauges directly from the manufacturer. When I compare the fuel level wiring plug that came with the SH gauge to the Ron Francis wiring, I see that the 3-pin plug is the same but the wires are pinned in a different order with one pin unused in each plug, although different. Anyone else notice the same thing? Ideas?

Another question, unrelated. Is the aluminum dash panel the same between MK4 and MK5 or does the new car have a different pattern?

Can't give you anything definitive about your fuel level wiring harness. The normal kit supplied gauge only require two wires -- ground and signal. The fuel level is a simple setup just measuring resistance from the sender. Should be easy enough to get the proper two wires lined up. For the dash, I ordered a blank aluminum dash for my Mk5 build and nearly have it installed. It's the same dash as the Mk4. Details and pictures in my build thread if you're interested.
