Hello everyone, just got my Mk 5 kit here in Georgia. I bought a gen 3 coyote with an ECU and wanted to know whether this could be programmed to work with a Tremek TKX transmission. If not, what options are there?
Thanks in advance .

There are no electronic controls in the TKX. Only a couple switches that don't connect to the Coyote ECU (aka PCM). So nothing required for a TKX to work with any generation Coyote. Unless I'm missing something in your question.

Just buy the correct blinker fluid negative earth, NOT the positive earth

Will this work Rich?

Not a fan of the synthetic stuff, I like the fresh squeezed type

I have a real on again, off again attitude towards blinker fluid :)

Thanks for all the replies . continuing on this thread. I was told that since the engine I bought was from a Mustang that ECUt would need to be somehow reprogrammed to work on the Mark v Cobra. Does anyone have any experience with that issue?

As @edwardb said above, there are no electronic controls for the TKX. I believe the Control Pack is sold in either automatic or manual configuration so that may be what you are referring to. It sounds like you purchased a take out engine? if so, what control pack and ECM are you using? I think those will be the drivers in what needs to be tweaked for functionality.

Hi, the engine I got is a gen3 coyote removed from a Mustang with an automatic transmission. Other than the ECU I do not have a power pack and not even sure what is included in a power pack. Any advice you can offer is greatly appreciated.

I am taking a guess this is what you will need:

The ECU comes with the Control Pack, you won't want to use the one from your take out as it's not really meant for engine swaps or a manual transmission and I'm thinking will throw error codes left and right. I don't know enough about the difference between an Auto or Manual engine (I wouldn't think much) other than the drivetrain components so it might be relatively straightforward.

My advice is to get a Ford Performance control pack for a manual transmission

Thanks to everyone for the replies. It's clear to me that I need the control pack from Ford Performance or Summit Racing. I initially thought to source the parts required individually but it looks pretty cumbersome. I need the bellhousing, clutch kit and the control pack to get the power train running. A bit more costly than expected but I'm learning.

Don't mess around, go call Mike Forte at Forte's parts and get the full setup of what you need. You will likely spend less buying it once and have the piece of mind to focus on the install knowing you have everything. That being said if you did like I did with a drop out and you have the old harness... I used many parts on it to make jumpers and extensions like those that need to go to the O2's. You have all the OEM connectors in that harness to do so and save a small amount of $. Hope this helps
