Is the thread pattern and size the same on the outlet for the Wilwood and Tilton? I am taking out my FFR Wilwood MC and replacing it with a Tilton 75 on my hyd clutch system on my MK5. I had thought the supplied 90 degree fitting to 4AN coming out of the Wilwood would fit into the Tilton. The old fitting does not seem to screw into the Tilton outlet. I am afraid to cross thread, so have not forced it. Are they the same size and am I just being too cautious?
I could not get the Wilwood to bleed properly and had read all the failure stories on even the new Wilwoods. So, I am prophylactically replacing it ahead of time.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

In the thread in my signature are some details of what adapters are needed.

I recently went through this exercise with my Tilton 76 series MC's (I believe 75 series would be the same). The output port for Tilton is AN3 (3/8"-24), but I think the Wilwood fitting you're trying to use is NPT. I believe your Tilton should have come with an AN3 male to inverted flare female adapter? If I could do it all over, I'd probably go with banjos like many of the other Tilton users did.

Here is a reference to an old thread concerning the adapters. The hyperlinks to the Summit website have the part numbers you need.

I also converted the FFR supplied remote reservoirs to 5/16" barbed hose outlet allowing the runs to be all 5/16" brake fluid rated hose.

So, I am gathering from my simple question that the outlets are not the same. Bummer. I don't understand the jargon about all the configurations, but hoped someone could give me a simple solution.
Forgive me for I am old.

Although mine is an MKIV, check out post #124 on my second build thread. Might give you some good insight. I swapped out the clutch MC for the Tilton but kept the Wilwoods for the brake system.

I went with the Tilton MC's that have standard AN3 ports. After seeing Mike Bray's stainless lines, I had the fleeting wish I had gone with the MC's with banjo fittings but then the reality sets in that I simply don't have Mike's talent. If my brake and fuel lines looked like Mike's I would be reluctant to hide them under the body. If you haven't looked at the links in his signature, they are well worth the time to go through.

StangRacer - I know the feeling. So many talented builders on this forum. Mike's build is one of the many I reference often. For me, following some of these builds is like trying to drink from the fire hydrant.
