Reposting since older threads get buried.

I’m dealing with the usual Ford power steering whine on my 302W. I flushed and properly primed the system, tried Honda fluid, but the noise remains. I’m also now seeing a leak from the bottom of the pump. Since this is a donor pump with unknown history, I’m planning to replace it.

I’m looking at the Breeze pump + mount kits (70611 or 70695). They come with the pulley installed, and the plastic reservoir version appears similar to the Jones Racing–style pumps (including Summit copies).

Questions for anyone running this setup:
Feedback on the Breeze pump/mount (fitment, noise, leaks, reliability)?
Any confirmed part combos or fitment notes?
Is the Jones branded (made onshore) proven better than the plastic version (made in Taiwan)

Preference is on-shore components. Looking for a proven “buy once” solution.

That is a TypeII pump and is very good. I'm sure Mark's is the same as a Jones or KRC or any other TypeII. Depending on your car (MKI,II,III etc) it may not work with the aluminum reservoir, as it's a bit larger than the plastic one. I run a TypeII with Heidts valve on my MKI/II with the plastic pump and 5" pulley without any issues. It will clear the steering shaft with ample room. I also use the KRC 31610000 bracket to mount my pump. Nicer bracket and extra adjustment, if needed, if you run a alternator adjusting rod/sleeve. Also a better looking pump and operation. imo

I would check and see if the 70695 reservoir is the same dimension as the 70611 plastic tank, just to make sure you have room. If you have sensitive steering, you can replace the pressure valve, or run a Heidts valve. If the aluminum tank is the same size as plastic and fittings are 6AN, that would be my choice.

Thanks for this!
I'm in a Mk4.
Any chance of a few pics how that fitment worked out?
Havent seen much mentioned in the way of KRC bracketry.

Just waiting to hear back from Mark on the pump.
