Hi folks,

Well, I suspect some of you are interested in this info, so I thought I would share.

As I mentioned last year, Trigo stopped making the pin drive FIA wheels for the 289 FIA cars (five and six pin). I spoke with Bob at Vintage Wheels and he said they were taking over production (yes!).

I spoke with Bob today to check on the progress of the wheels. He indicated that the six pin FIA wheels were done, and the five pin are almost ready. If you're on the FIA wheel list you may be getting a call next week :)

Bob mentioned that the new wheels are 1/2" wider (now 8" and 10" vs. the old 7.5 and 9.5" wheels). He said the offset is being updated so the wheels will continue to fit properly. He also mentioned that running a 275-60 won't be an option any longer as it won't fit the 10" rim. However, the FF-recommended 295-size tire will fit.

So... if you're like me and waiting on the new FIA rims, it sounds like things are moving and we'll have the new rims pretty soon!

Glad to hear he's making headway! The 15" 427 knock off wheels look good on a 289, but the FIA wheels definitely look the best and period correct. I can't wait to get that order over with. Everything else is easier to source.
